Transactions

Every transaction, searchable and filterable, with bulk tools when you need them.

Try it step by step

These steps describe the web app. iPhone controls may differ.

  1. Open Transactions and choose the account and date filters for the activity you want.
  2. Open a row to check its date, amount, category, tags, and notes. Save changes, then confirm the filtered list reflects them.
  3. For a mixed purchase, use category splits and allocate the full amount across the lines.
  4. Select multiple rows for bulk categorization. Review the selection before applying the change; export the current view when you need a file.

Worked example

A $90 store purchase might contain $60 of groceries and $30 of household supplies. Category splits must total $90. They change budget reporting; the transaction’s account and total stay the same.

Check before you continue

For duplicate imported activity, compare the account, amount, and date before removing anything. You can correct older activity directly; monthly records update on their own.

Search and category labels make individual purchases easy to trace.

The feed

Newest first, loading more as you scroll. Search covers descriptions and notes; filters narrow by account, category, type, tags, and date range.

Adding and editing

Add transactions with the + button; tap any row to edit its details, category, tags, or notes. Amounts follow the sign convention automatically — expenses negative, income positive.

Splits

One purchase, several categories: split a transaction and allocate the amount across lines. Totals must add up before saving, so reports stay exact.

Bulk actions

Select multiple rows to recategorize in one stroke. Recategorizing also teaches the rules engine, so future imports land correctly on their own.

A CSV/XLSX export of the current view is available from the toolbar.
